Catherine (Catie) Campbell joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services staff in May of 2017 as an intern.  

During her career in collegiate athletics, Campbell has had a variety of experiences. She pursued her bachelor’s degree in athletic training at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. While at Mount Union, Campbell ran on the varsity cross country and track and field teams, serving as a captain of both her senior year. Campbell then pursued her master’s degree at Walsh University, where she spent her first year on the cross country and track and field team, and then served as the Graduate Assistant Coach for Women’s Distance her second year.

As the Graduate Assistant, Campbell was responsible for the recruitment of talented female distance runners, including setting up and conducting recruiting trips and visits. She also assisted with daily practices and workouts, and helped with meet day management, both at home and on the road.

While earning her masters of arts degree in Counseling and Human Development with a concentration in Student Affairs in Higher Education, Campbell held an internship at Kent State University in the office of Student-Athlete Academic Services in the Fall of 2016 and then served as head intern in the Spring of 2017 for the same office. For her internship, Campbell spent 600 hours in the office, working closely with the academic counselors and with student-athletes to facilitate student-athlete development and success.

Campbell is a native of Blacklick, Ohio.
