Chris Evans joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services staff in January of 2017.  

He joins Florida State after serving as Assistant Director of Student-Services at the University of North Texas. At North Texas, he assisted with the following sports: men's basketball, women's basketball, football (defensive line), and track and field. He also oversaw SAAC and Student-Athlete Development.

 Evans returned to North Texas after earning his master's degree from UNT in 2011.

Prior to returning to North Texas, Chris Evans worked as an Athletic Academic Counselor for football at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. from 2011-2013.

As a graduate student at North Texas, he was a graduate assistant for the Academic Success Program for the UNT Learning Center. During that time, he worked in the athletic department as an academic coach, mentoring North Texas student-athletes. He also was an intern in athletic department in administration, academics, and compliance.

A native of Naples, Texas, Evans received his bachelor's degree from Henderson State University, where he was a football student-athlete. He received his master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Texas in 2011. Evans is a member of N4A (National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics), the NCAA Leadership Institute (2016), and a graduate of PDI (Professional Development Institute) Class of 2016,
