Shanika Mungin

Senior Learning Specialist

B.S. in Theatre Education, Florida A&M University

Shanika D. Mungin joined the Seminole team in August 2013 as Learning Specialist. Shanika assists in the academic development of student athletes and helps them master the skills they need to become successful students. In October 2015 she was promoted to Senior Learning Specialist.

A transplant from South Carolina, Shanika, after finishing her undergraduate degree at Florida A & M University, began teaching performing arts and coaching competitive cheer at James S. Rickards High School here in Tallahassee, Florida. She then moved into the role of the James S. Rickards High School GEAR UP Coach, wherein she was the site coordinator for Tallahassee Community College's GEAR UP grant. It was her mission to create and monitor initiatives that provide family education and open college access to the Rickards' student population.

Currently, Shanika also serves as the campus advisor for the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. at Florida State University and has done so for the past two and a half years. In her off-time, you will find Shanika mothering her son and in the stands cheering on the Raiders, Rattlers, and of course, the Seminoles.
