Shanice Smith joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services staff in May of 2017 as an intern.  

Prior to joining the FSU SAAS staff, Smith was an Assistant Academic Counselor in Student Athlete Academic Services at the University of Louisville (U of L) where she provided academic support and case management for freshmen on the football team. She also worked as a Graduate Assistant at U of L where she supported student athletes in the men’s basketball and football program as well as creating and conducting Summer Bridge sessions for incoming football players, monitoring study halls and managing a caseload of diverse student athletes. Smith was also a part of the renowned Adidas Internship Program.

Prior to receiving her graduate degree, Smith was a student-athlete at the University of Cincinnati where she was a member of the women’s track and field team. There she earned All-Conference (Big East and American) honors both on the track and in the classroom including being recognized as an Arthur Ashe Scholar.

Being a former student-athlete has fueled her passion in the field of student athlete success and she is committed to ensuring all student groups develop academically, personally and in their chosen career path.
