Shawn Wagner joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services staff in May of 2015 as an intern. He joined the staff full time as an advisor in May 2016. His duties include oversight of the student athlete textbook program. 

During his career in collegiate athletics, Wagner has held internships in the academic support and media relations fields and was a cross country student-athlete himself while earning his bachelor’s degree.

Wagner was a member of the cross country team and earned his bachelor’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University in 2013.  As a senior he interned in the Student-Athlete Services Unit at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.  Wagner served as a mentor for the members of the men’s and women’s basketball teams while interning at UWM.

Wagner earned his Master’s of Science in sport administration from Mississippi State University in 2015.  While at Mississippi State, he was a graduate assistant in the Athletic Academic Support Unit.  He held advising and mentoring responsibilities with the football, volleyball and women’s golf teams.  Wagner was also an intern in the media relations office at Mississippi State while earning his Master’s degree.

Wagner is a native of Denmark, Wisc.
