Alex Escada officially joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services staff in January 2022.  

Most recently, Alex spent time at the University of Maryland as an Assistant Learning Specialist. In this role, he provided comprehensive academic support for Student-Athletes which included developing and implementing individual learning plans, monitoring academic progress of his caseload of Student-Athletes, and interpreting various academic testing and screening protocols. In addition to these responsibilities, he also worked on a fundraising plan for Maryland Athletics through a Title IX lens. Prior to his time at Maryland, Alex served as an Intern in the Student-Athlete Development department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. While at UMass, Alex worked with Student-Athletes in areas such as diversity and inclusion, resume/cover letter writing, and achieving peak performance outside of their sport.

Alex received his Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Boston College. While working towards his degree, Alex spent time volunteering in multiple collegiate athletic departments across the Northeast. Before Boston College, Alex received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross. At Holy Cross, Alex was a four year member of the Track & Field team, serving as Captain his senior season, and currently holds the school record in the Heptathlon.

Alex is a native of East Greenbush, New York.
