Emily Tokarz joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services Staff in October 2021 after working on-campus as an Academic Program Specialist in FSU’s College of Criminology. 

Prior to Florida State University, Emily spent four years at the University of Memphis where she served one year as an intern before being hired as the advisor for Football-Defense. While at Memphis, Emily monitored students’ academic progress, taught a freshmen orientation course to freshman student-athletes, ran the Summer Bridge program, and managed the professor communication program. Before her time in Memphis, Emily served as a graduate assistant in student-athlete academic support at the University of South Carolina where she provided academic support for several teams including Men’s Basketball, Swim & Dive, Women’s Golf, and Women’s Tennis. She earned her master’s degree in Sport & Entertainment Management in 2016. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois.

Emily is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors (N4A) and the National Academic Advising Association (NACDA). She married her husband, Tony, in June 2021. They have two bulldogs, Nash and Rambo.
