Kendell joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services Staff in May 2023.

 Prior to arriving at Florida State, Kendell earned his master's degree in Higher Education at The University of Mississippi in May 2023. While pursuing his degree, Johnson worked as a graduate for the Athletics Department within the Office of Student-Athlete Development. In this role he assisted the divisions of Academic Counseling and Academic Enrichment in the day-to-day operations of assisting student-athletes.

 Johnson graduated a full year early with a bachelor's degree in Finance in 2021 at the University of Memphis (UofM). While at UofM, he played on the football team and was a three year AAC All-Academic Team member and two year Tiger 3.0 Club member.

 Johnson is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana.
