McKanna joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services Staff in June 2021 as an intern.

Prior to Florida State University, she received her master’s degree in Higher Education at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. McKanna worked as the graduate assistant for Student-Athlete Services and an intern for Student-Athlete Development Programing. She held advising and mentoring responsibilities for the Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Softball, and Men’s Swimming & Diving team.  Additionally, she supervised study hall for all teams, created educational content for student-athletes, and planned/executed various student-athlete development programs/workshops. 

At Assumption College, McKanna graduated with a B.A. in Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies in 2019. She was a member of the women’s basketball team and a team captain her senior season.

McKanna is a native of Narragansett, Rhode Island.
