Kearsten Peoples joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services Staff in January 2025 and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Football. Prior to her role at FSU, she was the Assistant Director for Academics at the University of Missouri, where she provided academic support to the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field teams as well as the Gymnastics team. She also served as an advisor for several student-athlete organizations, including Student Athletes Fostering Empowerment, Tigers Global, and the Black Student Athlete Association.
Kearsten’s journey into athletic administration was shaped by her own outstanding track and field career at the University of Missouri. As a student-athlete, she was an NCAA Champion (Weight Throw), 10-time NCAA All-American, five-time Conference Champion, and school record-holder in multiple throwing events. Peoples made notable appearances at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2012, placing fourth overall & 2016. Her achievements earned her recognition as one of the top throwers in program history. Kearsten’s competitive drive and dedication to excellence now fuel her commitment to supporting student-athletes both on and off the field.
A native of Ottawa, Kansas, Kearsten holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri. Her passion lies in empowering student-athletes to achieve academic success, develop leadership skills, and prepare for life after sports.
