Miguel Negrón joined Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) in September 2021 as Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies/Associate Athletics Director. In this role, he oversees the SAAS staff, day-to-day operations of student-athlete academic support programs, and SAAS facilities. He also serves as the academic advisor for Beach Volleyball and the secondary Sport Administrator for Beach Volleyball and Women’s Basketball.
Prior to Florida State, Negron served as Associate Director for the Office of Athletic Academics at Mississippi State University from March 2017 to August 2021. There, he oversaw all aspects of academic support for the football and women’s basketball programs, was a member of the department’s leadership team, and coordinated the Bulldogs Back on Track degree completion program. Additionally, he served on the Athletic Diversity & Inclusion Council from January 2019 to August 2021 and was the council’s co-chair and facilitator during the 2020–21 academic year.
Before joining Mississippi State, Negron worked at the University of Louisville as an Academic Counselor from September 2013 to February 2017, primarily supporting the football program. Prior to that, he served as an Academic Coordinator with the football program at the University of Central Florida during the 2012–13 academic year.
Negron began his career in athletic academic support in January 2011 as a Graduate Assistant in Athletic Academic Services at the University of Louisville while pursuing his graduate degree. He graduated with a Master of Science in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville in 2012, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Goucher College in 2009. While at Goucher (NCAA Division III), he was a student-athlete, and member of the basketball program.
A native of Bel Air, Maryland, Miguel is also an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A). He resides in Tallahassee, Florida, with his wife, Stephanie Negrón.
